'Our nation is our pride'. When ever people all around the world hears the name Nepal, they think of the highest peak of the world Mt Everest, the country where Lord Gautam Buddha was born, the country blessed with the natural beauty and geography, the nation rich in tradition and culture. I would proudly say, Heaven is a myth, Nepal is real.

"Handloom Dhaka" is another aspect that makes our country popular in textile industry. Handloom dhaka- made in nepal.

The origin of dhaka goes back several hundred years. Palpa and Tehrathum are the two places where dhaka was born. .Its origins can be better associated with women of the Rai and Limbu castes, who weave to make garments for their family. This culture is still continuing and the form of art is performed and practiced in many group of people and places of Nepal. Palpali dhaka being a well-known product line in Nepal.The intricate pattern weaved in Jacquard technique with bright color combination of yarns with its own significance reflects the creativity and skill of the artisans.

An inheritance and a legacy, Dhaka speaks of a tradition. The name itself evokes fascination among the older generation while the youth find Dhaka designs appealing to make a trendy and stylish fashion statement.
Here Sabah Nepal, the social business organization which is actively working for the the home based workers and promoting the craftsmanship of dhaka weaving.Sabah Nepal is the pioneer trend setter for transforming traditional dhaka i.e. dhaka topi, shawl, guniyo cholo into fashionable contemporary designs, which is at its peak stage. Those colorful handloom dhaka made by the talented and hardworking artisans of Sabah Nepal are also liked by the foreigners either living in Nepal or outside.

Lets not make it long, the look that I am sharing today is all about our traditional dhaka. Dhaka that I have used for my blouse is among the best of the best collection of Sabah Nepal. I have tried to portray the strong and bold side of a girl who can break all the walls of discrimination, superstition and wrong practice that is still prevalent in our society. She is ready for positive change on herself and is such confident to handle all the problem.

This beautiful dhaka blouse is paired up with the bright blue silk sari with golden border . underneath black jeans has been wore to give the twist in sari.

Could not help posting my picture. Actually made the dress for the reception of my brother., where girls are supposed to be in Indianized lehenga-choli, heavy embroidered sari or Kurtis but I was in hand-loom dhaka blouse and a sari with a twist.
